When should I make a clean out appointment?

Same day or next day pickup is prevalent for small pickups. If you’re planning for a larger job, such as an estate cleanup or a moving project that involves more than one room, you’ll have more flexibility in scheduling, particularly if the job is during one of the busier moving months.

Will I have to be at home when picking up?

Most companies have a person there to walk through, but some have curbside pick-up as well where items are left out on the curb on a designated day.

Which of the following is not accepted?

Hazardous materials such as paint, chemicals, batteries and asbestos containing materials typically must be disposed of by a special method and are not picked up. If you have doubts ask “Does it contain…?” for any particular item.

Will you be able to call me the exact amount?

An estimate will be provided, but the final price will likely be determined once a crew has seen the items on location because photos and descriptions often do not convey the weight and volume of items.

So what do you do with items that are still working?

If the company sorts loads before sending to a landfill, then furniture, appliances and electronics that are usable are often set aside for donation.

Does same day service take place every day?

This will be determined by the company’s lineup and job size. Smaller pickups will have a better chance of being picked up on the same day, larger cleanups may require a scheduled appointment.
